AMELIA

Times:  Wednesday, March 22, 1876, Issue 28583 – Bridlington Quay, March 21 – The Amelia, Captain Profit from Aquilas for Leith, arrived at this Bay, has landed a boy called John McLaren, whom she picked up afloat off Portland on the 12th belonging to a schooner he calls Athhlia of Ardressan, Captain Bou?l, from London, sailed14th February for Sligo, with guano, which sank just previously, whereby the rest of the crew, six in number, and also the master’s wife were drowned.  The boy knows no further particulars of the schooner, as he only joined her at Gravesend and even her name is uncertain.
