Times: Friday, October 29, 1886, Issue 31903 – “The Sumatra, steamer, from Java for Amsterdam, with a general cargo and passengers, went ashore during thick fog at 10 p.m. on Wednesday on Chesil~Beach near Fleet Coastguard Station, Weymouth. The tugs Queen and Commodore, of~Weymouth, successfully got her afloat yesterday morning, and are accompanying the Sumatra to Portland.” Ship Incident
