TOURNY

DCC: 07/02/1907; “Collision in the Channel off Portland – On Thursday night a French fishing smack, TOURNY, was run into by an unknown steamer in the Channel and sank immediately. The captain, whose name was Francois, and six men were drowned. One French sailor, whose name as yet is unknown, was picked up by a German steamer and brought into Portland on Friday morning. The fishing smack hailed from Boulogne. The colliding steamer was the BITSCIN, of German nationality, bound from Hamburg to Havana. The disaster occurred about 15 miles this side of Beachy Head.
