ATHLETE

Brigantine – Captain McDonald. Cargo, Guano. LARN. Was seen to founder by the Coastguard at Portland Bill. Later the vessel AMELIAN, master Profit, arrived at Bridlington Bay on the 21st March where she had landed a boy named John McHaven who they had picked up on the 12th off Portland from the ATHLETE – Portland Race.

NOTE: The Athlete sailed from London to Sligo on the 14th February. The Athlete of Ardessan is a brigantine of 218tons.
