Times: Wednesday, January 21, 1885, Issue 31349 – “The steamer Chilton, of West Hartlepool, landed at Dover yesterday morning the crew of the brigantine Coila, of Dumfries, from Poole for Runcorn, with clay, which vessel foundered 15 miles N W of Portland. The crew took to their boats shortly before the vessel foundered, and were soon afterwards picked up by the Chilton.
