Brig – (LARN) – Captain Pitt. Cargo Sugar. “Drove ashore in a hard gale of wind about 3 miles to the W of the Island. Every Thing possible will be done to save the Ship and Cargo; she was blown out of Tingmouth (Teignmouth?) Road (sic) late on Friday Night, while the Captain and Part of the Crew were on Shore. 3.5 miles W of Portland on Chesil Beach. Ref. Lloyds List: No. 1437: 11/0/1783.
